We are pleased to announce that The Healing Place will be adding the first and only colon hydrotherapy service using our “OPEN” system. This innovative service allows clients to administer water for cleansing privately. Our goal is to have this service ready for scheduling by the end of August 2024.

A colon hydrotherapy session (aka colonic, high enema, colon irrigation) are all names for the method of removing waste from the large intestine, with the use of modern colon hydrotherapy equipment. It is the gentle infusion of temperature-controlled, filtered water into the colon, therefore, softening and loosening waste, resulting in evacuation through natural peristalsis. This process is repeated a few times and typically is 30 to 45 minutes long. The International Association for Colon Hydrotherapy (i-ACT) adheres to strict federal guidelines that dictate use of FDA approved equipment and disposable single-use speculae and/or tubes. The Healing Place also maintains high, quality standards for cleanliness and professionalism for a healthy experience.

What can I expect from a colonic session?

A colonic session is comfortable. It can culminate a feeling of increased energy and less body pain. During a session, most clothing can be kept on with a drape or gown covering the body to ensure modesty. Your dignity is always maintained. After the session, the client is given “after-care” instructions. 

 

Why Care About Colon Health?

The expression “Death begins in the colon” apparently originated with the Nobel prize-winning Russian biologist Elie Metchnikoff (1845-1916) during his later years of laboratory research at the Pasteur Institute in Paris. While studying the flora of the human intestine, he became convinced that aging and death were gradually caused by the destructive influence on the body by toxic metabolic by-products of bowel bacteria. He advocated the use of fermented milk products rich in beneficial microorganisms, such as Lactobacillus acidophilus, to crowd out the harmful bacteria and reduce their negative influence on health and aging processes. We now know these fermented milk products to be ‘probiotics’ and as we are bombarded with toxic chemicals, antibiotics and steroid drug use, parasites thrive and the food we eat isn’t digested or eliminated properly. A healthy colon produces vitamins B and K, as well as absorbs water. A healthy digestive tract helps support a healthy immune system as well.
